Christmas is coming......


Christmas is coming, Fifty-Sixers, and we are still working hard on our mission projects. Don't forget to get your permission slips signed and return them on Wednesday, December 3rd. We will not meet this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday but will be back on 12/3/08. See you then......

Wading the River

Fight the Battle Before Us!

There are many battles and wounds that are inflicted but we will learn how to fight despite the warfare and with a renewed spirit. Be ready for the boot camp of God's army! This week we will continue to "walk in the garden" and learn much about our relationship with God. Also, now that the journals are personalized, we will start to work with them. Continue to invite your friends to join us. We keep getting bigger and better every week!

Welcome Back to the 5th & 6th Graders!

We've got a few weeks in now and we're having tons of fun. Remember this week we will finish working on our journals. For those who did not decorate last week, you will this week. Also we'll continue our lesson with Mrs. Caulkins. Coming soon we'll also have our mission speaker....so don't miss a single Wednesday night. See you soon.

50 Sixers begins again on Wednesday September 24 from 6:30-8:00. All fifth and sixth graders are welcome. We will meet in the student center for a great time of worship, Biblical teaching, crafts and games.

50Sixers is finished meeting for this school year. We are glad that you all came!
We would love to have you join us on Sundays for church and Sunday School. The 5th and 6th grade classes meet at 9:45 and 11:05 in the rooms above the gym.

Happy Easter!!! If you don't have a church home, please join us for worship on Easter Sunday.

March 26 will be our last 50Sixers for this school year. We will rotate between the gym for big games, the fellowship hall for crafts, "small games", and ice cream sundaes, and the student center for Wii, Guitar Hero, ping pong, etc.

You are all invited to the All-church family bowling party on April 2 from 5:30-7:30 at Muskegon Lanes. We will meet at Muskegon Lanes.
Please sign up in the Education wing so we know how many to expect.

Please join us on March 19 for a Worship Night. Dave Nagel and the band will play one last time. Mrs. Calkins will lead your worship time as we look at Easter and Jesus' sacrifice for us.

On March 12, we will have two special guests. Undersheriff Dean Roesler will speak about his job fighting crime in Muskegon County and what you can do to be a good citizen.
In addition to leading a fun game, Mrs. McFalls will talk about Every Kid a Camper and tell you how you can earn money towards summer camp at Portage Lake.
There will also be a craft project in the Fellowship Hall.

This week is our mission and service night. Jana Peterman from the Muskegon Rescue Misison will be here to tell us about the Rescue Mission. We will make Welcome Bags for the children who stay at the Rescue Mission. Please bring along small items to include in the bags such as crayons, markers, small toys, toothbrushes, and personal hygiene items. We'll also have some great games in the gym and crafts.

Join us on Wednesday, February 6 for a worship night. The worship band will start things off with some great music. Come to hear Mrs. Calkins help us understand what "The Shepherd and the Sheep" story has to do with you and your life.
We will have games in the gym and crafts in the fellowship hall. You can choose to join the games or the crafts - or do both!

Join us on January 30 for a mission/service night. Jana Peterman from the Muskegon Rescue Mission will share about how the Rescue Mission serves the people of Muskegon.

We will be making Welcome Bags for the children who stay at the Rescue Mission.
Please bring in small items to fill the bags such as: small toys, books, personal hygiene items, coloring books, crayons, etc. (These are items like you would put into an Operation Christmas Child shoebox.)

As always, we will have time for games in the gym.
(Sorry to those of you who didn't get to play games on the 23rd.)

Join us on Wednesday night, January 23, for a Worship night.
The band will be playing!! We will also have games in the gym.

January 30 is our next Service/Mission night. We will have a guest from the Muskegon Rescue Mission speak about the work done there.

Start collecting small items to include in "Welcome Bags" for children who stay at the Rescue Mission. These can be such things as small toys, books, personl hygiene items (toothbrushes, sample sized toothpaste, soap, hair things, etc). We will make the bags for the children on the 30th.
